14 cats....



Okay so I am watching Rachael Ray right now and she just said that her mom has 14 cats - all I can think of is stinky.... seriusly one cat - ok, maybe even 2 - but I think anyone that has more than that just needs more enjoyment in their life. 14 cats.... ewe!

Oh and apparently the myth that pointsedias are poisonous to humans and cats is false - apparently you would have to eat somehting like 500 leaves for a toddler to be sick - so 'phew' you don't have to worry about that anymore because I know you all have been sleepless worrying about that!

Thanks Rachael Ray - without you I would be nowhere!!! Or maybe I wouldn't be sitting in front of the tv at 10:30am - maybe my kitchen would be clean and I would be showered.... nah I would just find something else to watch.... who wants cleansliness when you can have filth and tv!!??

4 days and counting!!! I can't believe it's nearly Christmas time. It makes me so excited like I'm a little kid again! I feel giddy around this time of year. I still go to bed with a little bit of me that believes Santa is coming while I'm sleeping and that I can't get out of bed until the morning. I am excited to leave cookies and milk for Santa or whatever we might have on hand.... I think Santa might like the 100 calorie packs of cookies - actually he is going to have to like that and some non fat milk - cause darn it I've worked hard to lose 36 pounds and that WILL NOT come back just cause Santa wants some fatty fat fat fat! :) Sorry for the rant! Anyway - I can't wait until that morning to see Molly's eyes with her new gifts - it will be even more fun next year when Charlie gets it too. It's really going to be wonderful when Molly opens her gifts and does her "ooo" it's gonna be great! Can't you all just see it now - opening her baby stroller from Jon and me and going "ooo" and then pushing it around the living room until we leave to go to mom and dads where she will open more fun stuff.... I can't wait!!!

Well now I should leave this and get back to my girls - Molly is ready for a nap and she needs her rest... Christmas is only 4 days away!!

I haven't blogged in a long time. I feel like I've completely neglected my ability to rant on unimportant things.... well that time is over - I am back!!!

So today I decided I wasn't going to leave the house - because the last week or two or ten I have been so busy that I have neglected to do certain things around the house! So I decided that if I didn't do my hair and make up that I wouldn't leave the house... however what that ended up doing was making me feel extremely lazy and instead of leaving the house I ended up just sitting around all day and doing nothing..... I took a shower at like 11:00am and got dressed - but other than that I didn't do anything.... I took care of my kids and all but they didn't even get dressed today - I gave them a bath and they hung out in their diapers for the rest of the day! I just had no energy to do anything! I didn't even get any of the things I wanted to get done around the house! Oh well I think I needed this day to just relax! I even got to take a nap this afternoon - something I haven't been able to do in so long! It was quite nice! Now tomorrow - I have to get stuff done... laundry is my number one concern! I have about 5 loads sitting in my hall upstairs - if you've ever seen my hall you would know that there isn't enough room for 5 loads of laundry probably not even enough for 2 loads really.... not if you want enough room to walk - so you can just imagine what it looks like!!! I also have about 4 loads to fold in my bedroom - I just keep piling them in Charlotte's bassinett (she doesn't sleep in it anymore because she is so large and in charge!)....
Anyway I am done ranting about my lame excuse for a day now.... Tomorrow I will get stuff done! Yeah right - I will probably end up going shopping or something like that.... I mean come on... it's Christmas time!!! Who wants to do laundry when I could be out in the crazy ass stores with all the crazy ass people doing their last minute shopping.... actually now that I say that out load (or type it) I realize laundry doesn't sound so bad after all... honestly all I want to do is sit in front of a fire with hot cup of coffee and book - but seeing that I don't have a fire place or a book I'm reading nor the time in the day to read it... I suppose I will just have to have the coffee - which doesn't sound too bad alone!!! :)
Well I should probably get back to my family - we are watching Harry Potter with Lauren and Hayden!! :)

So tonight I put up a slide show of Molly when she was in the NICU on my myspace page. I forgot how small she was and what a hard time this was in my life and everyones that was close to me. I am so happy that that time is over and Molly is strong and healthy. I just wanted to post a picture of her so you could all remember that time too...

Okay so I just realized that I have been getting on this thing almost every day in hopes that you all would post something new and getting disappointed every time there wasn't - and then I would sign off and get sad.... then I realized that I hadn't posted anything new either..... ooopps!!

Of course today however there were a few new ones out there and that made me happy! If you could see me now you would see that I am much happier... :)

Okay now for the reason for this blog....
Thanksgiving is just 2 days away and I just realized it. I mean I knew it was coming and everything but tomorrow is Wednesday and then Turkey day.... I just hadn't actually put it together in my head. Jon and the girls and I just went shopping at Fred Meyer to get the stuff to make a Green Bean Casserole (I'm taking one to the Powell's and the Mac's) and the place was a-hoppin'. People were cutting in line and swerving through the isles (to get what I don't know...). There was even a very fat lady in one of those motorized carts taking up the entire isle and angry at every person that asked her to move - we stayed clear of that one. So we got our stuff and we ourselves were in no hurry at all - so we just walked around the store and watched the craziness before us. It wasn't all that bad - but it was still very obvious that there was a holiday coming up - and that is when it hit me.... Thanksgiving is in 2 days..... Yikes!
I just thought you would all like to know that it is in 2 days - just in case you were like me and forgot or just didn't care to actually put it together....
THANKSGIVING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!!!

TIME TO EAT SOME TURKEY (not you Ashley), MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY, GREEN BEAN CASSEROLES, SWEET POTATOES, CRANBERRY SAUCE, ROLLS, SALADS (if you want to waste space on the plate), AND OF COURSE PIE - LOTS AND LOTS OF PIE!!

4:27am




Okay it's 4:27am and I am just sitting here not able to sleep. I've been awake for almost 2 hours now and finally gave up trying to sleep for a little while and came downstairs to tire myself on the computer. I hate when I can't sleep. I ended up just lying there thinking about everything that is "wrong" with my life. I started thinking about friends I haven't seen, past relationships, my weight, money, tv shows I have or haven't seen, Jon, Molly, Charlotte..... I just couldn't stop my brain from going. Then my stomach started to hurt and I had to pee - so I finished feeding Charlotte and went to the bathroom - that is when I decided I needed to just come down to the good ol' laptop! I knew that I could just post away any topics that were on my mind - however by the time I got down here - nothing cool was in my head anymore..... So instead of writing my amazing thoughts down - I am writing this..... NOTHING!!! I hope you all enjoy my blurbs about absolutely nothing. I plan on writing until I a. get a soar wrist or b. I fall asleep face first into the computer or c. just give up trying to be clever/funny or whatever you might call it and just go to sleep. I wish there was a magic pill I could take that would just knock me out.... oh wait there are.... however I can't take them.... I still have to be a mom in the morning - that probably wouldn't fly if I slept the entire day while Molly and Charlotte are screaming..... In fact I think there are women that go to jail for such awfulness.... or atleast I would imagine their children would be taken from them.... Oh to be white trash!!!
Speaking of white trash.... I had a dream that I had married one of the guys I dated while I was in college.... that was an interesting dream - I had 4 kids (all boys) and they were dirty and short and mean - just like their dad.... it was terrible.... then I woke up and looked next to me - there was my adorably clean baby girl and my clean, nice and tall husband and I knew that life was good! :)

Oooh I am starting to get tired - I just took a long pause and stared into no where.... maybe that means I am actually getting sleepy.... where are the poppies when I need them!!! :)

So did you all know that my ex-boyfriend Ben works at the 24 hour fitness right by my house - now if I were to decide to ever work out I couldn't (atleast not there) because how weird and uncomfortable would that be to work out infront of him.... seriously.... now I will never get to build that perfect physique!!!

Oh I took a very long pause that time.... like 2 minutes!!! :) I think I am going to end this thing and play some online games until my eyes begin to shut....

Windshield Wipers.......





Okay so I have to ask all you ladies out there... are your husbands/boyfriends/friends completely retarded when it comes to their wipers in the car? Jon thinks he is too cool (I am convinced) to use his wipers.... Like it makes him a stronger man when he just attempts to look through the wet glass.... It drives me absolutely insane. I have to ask him to turn them on - then once they are on - it's as though he doesn't know how to adjust them or even turn them off. It's rediculous! You should take a little drive in the country with him some time.... on a rainy day.... wait no better yet - how about a rainy night. The guy is not only wiperaphobic - he is also against his brights.... I kid you not.... he doesn't use his brights unless I remind him or tell him to. It's so awful riding with him. When we were first dating I was afraid to ask - and now I basically tell him if he doesn't I am going to drive....
I know that he isn't the only one because Angela and I were talking about it the other day and aparently Zack is the same way. I was just curious if any of the men in your life are like this? Are they too cool to use their wipers and brights too????

Date Night





Tonight Jon and I are going on our first date since we had Charlotte. I am so excited!!! We are going to just go see a movie (Saw III) - but it will be fun. I can't leave Charlotte for more than 2 hours so that is the best movie for us to go see - it's only like an hour and 45 minutes.
Anyway - I am very excited and just wanted to quickly share it with you all!!!

Our long week




So this has been a very long week. I think the only reason however is because all 4 of us in the Powell house are sick (no thanks to the Geniza family - you would have to know them to understand why it's their fault). I started feeling yucky Monday evening and then Charlotte got it Tuesday afternoon, Molly Wednesday morning and Jon Wednesday night. Basically this house is the war zone of nasty colds.... but we are fighting and winning thanks to Nyquil, Dayquil, cough drops and lots of suction devices for the girls.... I am finally feeling better today (in fact so much so that I even got completely ready - first time this week to do both hair and makeup and we even left the house and went shopping with my mom, Haley, Sarah and Lauren and Hayden....). I think we are at the tail end of this nasty cold!!! Anyway I just thought you would all like to know how the Powell house has been holding up!! :)

It's Finally Happened!



What are we all going to do? It's so sad.... yes you know what I'm talking about.... it's probably the worst thing that could have happened to our nation.... Grab a tissue before you read further..... it's going to break your heart.........

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline (K Fed) are getting a divorce. Britney filed for a divorce this morning.... Blah blah blah blah blah!
Did anyone actually think these 2 would last? Duh! Seriously! Can you believe it's made news and I suppose what's worse is that I'm wasting my time writing about them in my blog... but I just had to share this heart breaking news to you all!!! I hope you all recover well! Take a minute or 2 - heck take the day off if necessary... just remember to breath! I'm here if you need me!

BREAKING NEWS!!!



2.7 Earthquake centered in Downtown Portland this evening!!! Oh no!!!
So Jon and I just finished watching brokeback mountain and when we turned it off we turned it to the news... and it's "breaking news" a 2.7 earthquake "hit" in downtown portland. People were calling in and saying they felt it and all that jazz... anyone that has ever actually been in an earthquake that is more than a 5 or 6 point something knows that a 2.7 is just a pansy excuse for an earthquake...... Us California raised chilins would know that does not qualify to be called an earthquake.... seriously!!!

Anyway I just had to share this with you because when I saw this I just couldn't control my laughter.... I nearly woke Charlotte (who was asleep in my arms at the time).....

watch out - trees might be down because of the "earthquake" and flooding might be a problem due to the massive quake we just had!! :)

Future Cheerleader......



We went to the Liberty/HilHi football game tonight (we left before it was over.... sorry no score for you). Molly didn't want to sit for more than a couple minutes at a time - we tried passing her around between Jon, Mom, Dad and myself - but it didn't last for very long.... anyway finally Jon decided to walk around with her - all she did was pace back and forth between the cheerleaders and the end of the stands. Finally she realized that those cheerleaders were singing and dancing.... she walked over to them stared for about 2 full minutes then joined in..... She sat there dancing and bouncing up and down - I am not kidding when I say that half the kids in the stands were watching her instead of the game! Ask Haley and Ashlea they were there and watching her - it was just too cute for words - where is a camera when you need one!!!! Seriously Jon and I were laughing so hard I almost dropped Charlotte and almost peed my pants.... good thing I have a little self control or I would have wet myself in front of a ton of little high schoolers!!!

Well thought you would like to know what Molly was up to today!! I can't wait until Charlotte is dancing and bouncing too!!! Oh my girls!

So I got home from Sarah's house tonight and Jon peaked open the door and shhhhed me as I got out of the car.... I said is Molly sleeping? He said yes.... aparently she fell asleep in her high chair while eating an apple. She was so stinkin' cute. She was asleep and holding her apple like it was her baby.... I have never seen something so cute in my life!!! She slept like that for over a half an hour.... What a sweetheart!!!

So at this very minute my two gorgeous daughters are growling like little monsters - Charlotte is attacking a toy and making such wonderfully deep growling noises and Molly is sitting in her high chair eating a Dora popsicle and swirling it all over the tray and growling too.... I feel like I should be growling along with them - but instead I chose to write about it!!!

Okay so today was my first day to join in on the blogging world - up until today I hadn't even really touched a computer other than to do bills for about a year and a half. Jon decided to bring home a laptop from work and I can't get enough of it - it's a bit like crack!!!
I have to admit to something else too... I joined the MySpace world as well... that is addicting too.... even though I have no clue what I am doing or how to find anything - I feel like i have to keep checking in on it.... Have any of you ever felt like that before?
Well I should go and make sure my family isn't falling apart....
